Hey! I’m Britney, the creator behind NotSoSubtleSavings, where I design word search savings challenges for people who love pop culture.

Puzzles were always something I loved growing up – specifically word searches. I could never get into crosswords or sudoku (don’t ask me about Wordle because idk). To this day, I still end my nights by putting on a show and trying to finish a puzzle before bed.

During the pandemic, I found myself with a lot of unexpected free time. Like many others, I dove headfirst into K-pop. What started as casual listening quickly turned into a full-blown passion, with groups like BTS, Stray Kids, and TXT becoming a huge part of my everyday life.

After graduating from college at 22, my life took a sharp turn when I unexpectedly opened a cocktail bar in my hometown – a role I still hold today. Stepping into that world meant learning everything on the fly, especially when it came to managing money.

By 2023, financial literacy wasn’t optional anymore; it was essential. I was suddenly responsible not just for myself, but for my business and my family too. And honestly, it was overwhelming. I spent nights trying to understand concepts that felt completely out of reach, often stressed and unsure of where to start.

That’s when I realized something: I needed a way to make learning about money feel less intimidating and more like something I already loved.

So I combined puzzles with savings challenges, and that’s how these word search savings challenges were born. They’re designed to make saving money feel approachable, engaging, and fun – no matter how you start, it’s only important that you do.
